Nikki (she/her)
As a lifelong mover, I started practicing yoga in high school at my local dance studio and continued my yoga journey in college at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. After receiving my BFA in dance and minor in psychology, I continued my yoga practice at home in Chicago and discovered that the yoga studio was a place where I could move and breath and feel without judgement. It was then when I fell in love with yoga and completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training at Yoga Six and a 95 hour prenatal/postnatal yoga teacher training with Amala Yoga. In addition to my movement career, I am a mental health therapist and intuitive guide and being able to teach in ways that are healing and supportive to students is so vital to how I approach this practice.
For me yoga is all about the mind, body, spirit connection and has always been my way to ground and come back to my center in the midst of a chaotic world. One of my favorite parts of the yoga practice is the internal reflection it provides and the permission it gives to fully listen to your own body and intuition. I am so excited to be joining the Half Moon community because this sacred space provides just that: a place to connect to all parts of yourself. It is my intention to empower students to be their own guides and trust where their practice takes them.
